Tungsten-rhenium alloy is a refractory metal alloy composed of tungsten and rhenium. It combines a high melting point (close to 3410°C, the equivalent of pure tungsten) with excellent high-temperature strength and creep resistance. The addition of rhenium significantly improves the alloy’s plasticity and recrystallization temperature, enabling it to maintain excellent mechanical properties and stability even at temperatures exceeding 1000°C. Furthermore, the alloy exhibits excellent electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance, and oxidation resistance. Produced through powder metallurgy or smelting processes, it is widely used in aerospace engine hot-end components, high-temperature thermocouples, electron beam melting crucibles, and semiconductor chip manufacturing. It is a key material in high-temperature technology and precision manufacturing.
